I have made some Cheviot fleece pieces and thought I would see how well it held dye. Cheviot fleece is lovely and soft and because it doesn’t have a very long staple length, it is ideal for fleece cushions. I knitted a back to the fleece in red chunky wool, the cushion has an envelope neck which is kept closed with popper. Inside is a polyester cushion pad.

I made this unique piece of wall art from a Jacob Sheep Fleece. The cream and brown is Jacob fleece is the natural multi colours of a Jacob Fleece. I have washed the fleece to take out any vegetable matter (VM), but left it grubby to show a sheep wears its coat outside all year around.

I have made a fleece foot stool / seat from an upcycled stool base and 4 different fleece. The stools wooden seat has been covered with Alpaca felt and stuffed with Texel fleece. The cream Alpaca fleece is dreamy soft and the Texel stuffing gives it a very soft base. I have added a lovely piece of Ryeland fleece, in warm brown shades added to add texture and colour to the stool.

I have made this cushion from 4 different fleece. The cream front is Alpaca fleece, so dreamy soft, the dark locks of a Wensleydale fleece are brushed out on the front of the cushion, and left as tight locks, for the fringe around the outside. The stuffing is Texel fleece.

I made this unique piece of wall art from 2 different fleece. I made the top part with some Zwartble brown fleece and edged the bottom with some left over Dora, the telex mule fleece. All the wall art pieces will always be unique, as even next years fleece from the same sheep will have changed colour and staple length. Dora was a Texel mule, she had a fantastic fleece, I made several items from Dora’s fleece, a rug and a wall art.

I made this unique piece of wall art from 4 different fleece. The cream and brown main part, is Jacob fleece. I added some dark brown Zwartble fleece and some of Dora’s lush long silver locks. Dora was a Texel mule, she had a fantastic fleece, I made several items from Dora’s fleece, a rug and a wall art.
This wall art is an original item, a unique one off piece to decorate your walls and remind you of nature at its best.
The art pieces are made with shorn fleece, this means the sheep is still alive and growing next years fleece.
This art piece is made from 3 different breed of fleece, it demonstrates the wide difference in staple length and softness in different types of fleece. The staple length ranges from 3/4″ to 8″ long. Fleece is so tactile you just want to sink your fingers into the piece when you walk passed.
