About Me – Sabina
I’m Sabina, and I’ve been working with natural fleece and fibre for over 20 years. My passion lies in creating handcrafted items using ethically sourced British rare-breed fleece—from wet-felted “living rugs” and vegetarian sheepskins, to peg loom rugs, pet beds, seat pads, and wall art.
The image you see here features some of my favourite creations: a large plush wet-felted rug, fleece cushions, and a piece of wall art—all made using natural sheep fleece.
With a lifelong love of knitting and crochet, I also design modern, original patterns—many inspired by requests from my grandchildren.
I’ve recently begun crafting patterns that incorporate thrummed sheep locks—a traditional technique where tufts of wool are knitted into items for added warmth and texture. Additionally, I’m developing tutorials for creating items using circular peg looms, offering a unique approach to fleece crafting. Over the coming months, I’ll be expanding this collection with a variety of patterns and instructions, empowering you to create your own distinctive fleece and lock-based projects.
Now retired, I’m combining my teaching experience and creative skills to offer patterns, tips, and (soon!) courses—sharing the joy of working with fleece in all its natural beauty.
Each fleece piece I make is one-of-a-kind, shaped by the fibre itself. No two are alike—and that’s exactly how I like it.
