I made some Cheviot fleece rugs and thought I would see how well they held dye. Cheviot fleece is lovely and soft and because it doesn’t have a very long staple length, it is ideal for fleece cushions and rugs. I put the rug into a dye mix in a black bin bag and left it out in the sun to see what would happen, I love the way the dye caught more on the tips and left the deeper parts of the fleece cream.

I have made some Cheviot fleece pieces and thought I would see how well it held dye. Cheviot fleece is lovely and soft and because it doesn’t have a very long staple length, it is ideal for fleece cushions. This cushion cover has a turquoise dyed front and a cream crochet back, the cushion has an envelope neck which is kept closed with popper. Inside is a polyester cushion pad.

I have made this cushion from 4 different fleece. The cream front is Alpaca fleece, so dreamy soft, the dark locks of a Wensleydale fleece are brushed out on the front of the cushion, and left as tight locks, for the fringe around the outside. The stuffing is Texel fleece.
