I made this colourful Jacob Fleece into a lovely big rug. This rug has turned out as a long rectangle rug, it has a short staple length so not very shaggy. The short staple length lets the lovely cream and brown patchwork fleece shine through. This rug is not very heavy, so it could be used as a throw.

I made some Cheviot fleece rugs and thought I would see how well they held dye. Cheviot fleece is lovely and soft and because it doesn’t have a very long staple length, it is ideal for fleece cushions and rugs. I put the rug into a dye mix in a black bin bag and left it out in the sun to see what would happen, I love the way the dye is so dense and made the backing purple too. Purple is my favourite colour.

I made some Cheviot fleece rugs and thought I would see how well they held dye. Cheviot fleece is lovely and soft and because it doesn’t have a very long staple length, it is ideal for fleece cushions and rugs. I put the rug into a dye mix in a black bin bag and left it out in the sun to see what would happen, I love the way the dye caught more on the tips and left the deeper parts of the fleece cream.

This peg rug is made from a wide variety of fleece. When I first started exploring washing and spinning fleece I tried out a wide variety of fleece. I made this peg rug with my spun fleece. It is very heavy and has an array of colours. I washed the fleece, carded it, then spun it and use the clean yarn to make this peg rug.

This peg rug is made from a Jacob sheep’s fleece, I separated the dark colours from the dark shades and then dyed the lighter parts before I spun the fleece. I made this peg rug with my spun fleece. It is very heavy and has an array of colours. I washed the fleece, carded it, then spun it and use the clean yarn to make this peg rug.
